My stay at Rocksalt Rooms was quite the mixed bag. The location is superb with lovely views over the harbour, but I found the rooms a bit cramped with limited storage. Dining experiences were superb overall, but they could use some tweaks in service and amenities. Overall, I appreciate the charm, but some aspects need attention for a perfect stay.

Rooms
7.0
My room was small but nicely decorated, though the lack of storage made it challenging for longer stays. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were adequate, though I did miss having a fridge for my perishables.
Service
7.0
While the staff were friendly and did their best to accommodate, I felt there were moments when more proactive service could elevate the experience. especially considering the boutique nature of the hotel.
Location
8.0
The location is fantastic, right on the working harbour and close to the EuroTunnel terminal. However, noise in the early morning from nearby activities was rather disruptive. I recommend ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.
Dining
8.0
I dined at the Rocksalt restaurant and the food quality was excellent, particularly the wild garlic soup. I wish breakfast hours started earlier, as the 9:30 AM start felt a bit late for early risers like me.
Facilities
6.0
The amenities in my room were decent, including a coffee machine and a welcome drink. However, I expected some more attention to detail, especially regarding room tidying during my stay.

5.0/10

I had a mixed experience during my stay at Rocksalt Rooms. The bed was super comfortable, and the views were stunning, but I encountered some issues with storage and the bathroom situation. Overall, it was a good experience, but some improvements could make it even better.

Rooms
6.0
My room had a beautiful view, and the bed was really cozy; however, there were barely any hangers for my clothes, and I wished there was more storage space. The bathroom was a wet room, which led to a flooded floor after showers.
Service
7.0
The staff were friendly and accommodating. They even made time for a bit of a chat, which was nice. However, the check-in process was a bit chaotic, with no clear signage about where to go.
Location
7.0
Rocksalt Rooms is ideally situated close to the harbour arm and independent businesses. While the area was vibrant, it could get noisy at night, especially with the local nightlife.
Dining
8.0
I had some of the best seafood I've ever tasted at the restaurant, especially the wild garlic soup. The view while dining was fantastic, and breakfast was delicious, although I was disappointed with the breakfast hamper I received.
Facilities
6.0
The amenities included a nice welcome hamper, but I found it lacking due to the limited coffee options and no mini fridge. The shower's wet room design led to minor flooding, which was a bit inconvenient.

I had a well-appointed stay at Rocksalt Rooms, perfect for a quick stopover with its cozy yet compact design, though the room size might feel cramped for longer stays. The location near the harbour is fantastic, with various dining options nearby, including the acclaimed Rocksalt restaurant. However, the lack of breakfast until 9 a.m. and some minor issues with noise and privacy did put a damper on my experience.

Rooms
6.0
The room was charming and clean, with lovely decor and a comfortable bed. However, I found it very small with limited storage space (just two hangers and a tiny washbasin).
Service
5.0
Staff at check-in were friendly, but I was disappointed with the delayed breakfast service; I had pre-ordered a picnic breakfast for an early departure, which never arrived.
Location
8.0
The hotel is ideally situated right on the harbour, making it convenient for exploring the area and heading out for a meal. Unfortunately, the views from my room weren't great due to nearby buildings.
Dining
8.0
I enjoyed a delicious breakfast and appreciated the attentive service at the restaurant. The quality of the seafood there was particularly impressive, though I didn't dine there aside from breakfast.
Facilities
5.0
The amenities included a good selection of beverages, but I found the shared milk situation quite peculiar, as there was no fridge in the room. Also, the lack of sound insulation made for a noisy morning.

6.4/10

My recent stay at Rocksalt Rooms had its highs and lows. The quirky design and comfortable bed were definite highlights, though the lack of proper ventilation made for a stuffy night. The breakfast situation left a lot to be desired, especially for the price I paid.

Rooms
6.0
The room was well decorated and cozy, but it was quite small and lacked proper storage, making it uncomfortable with our luggage. Despite this, I appreciated the modern touches, like the Nespresso machine.
Service
7.0
The staff was friendly and accommodating; however, the check-in process was a bit disorganized, with a missing key that delayed everything.
Location
8.0
The location was convenient, just a short walk to the vibrant harbour area. This made exploring Folkestone easy and enjoyable.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was disappointing and seemed like leftovers. I expected more variety for the price, especially when the restaurant was closed on Monday. However, the on-site dining experience when available was quite good.
Facilities
5.0
I was disappointed with the lack of a mini fridge and adequate air conditioning, which made my stay less comfortable. The flooding issue in the bathroom also detracted from the experience.

I had a pleasant stay at Rocksalt Rooms, enjoying the cozy atmosphere and attentive service. The location right by the harbour is truly special, though the lack of a desk and some storage in the room was a bit of a drawback. Overall, I found the experience charming and worth the visit, especially with the boutique feel of the place.

Rooms
8.0
The room was nicely decorated and cozy, featuring lovely exposed brickwork. However, I noted the absence of wardrobes and a desk, which might be an issue for business travelers. The comfort of the bed ensured a good night's sleep.
Service
9.0
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, responding quickly when I needed additional amenities in the room. A manager's willingness to adjust charges based on my changing plans stood out as a highlight of my stay.
Location
10.0
Nestled in a revitalizing area by the docks, the location was a joy with its proximity to boutique shops and cafes. Being just steps from the beach and the Rocksalt restaurant is certainly a plus.
Dining
9.0
Dining at the Rocksalt restaurant was a unique experience with a vibrant ambiance and fantastic seafood. The attention to detail in food presentation heightened the culinary experience.
Facilities
7.0
The amenities provided in the room, such as tea and coffee, were convenient. While the shower room was effective, its size may not suit everyone, and the breakfast hamper could use some improvement in presentation.
